![]() ![]() The overall experience of the album is very enjoyable. The songwriting seems more on point as well. The instrumentals are interesting, unique, and blend nicely with Chad’s vocals. The next songs carry the album along quite nicely. The title track sets up the background of the album, and provides us with some VERY experimental sounds– in which we grow accustomed to throughout the rest of the album. This struggle is conveyed throughout the 13 track project, albeit somewhat disjointedly. One year after their mixtape in 2018 was released, Zeal paints a picture of apathy in the Christian life, and the journey to renew the faith once had in Christ. Zeal is probably one of the most prevalent projects to have come out of Seattle–based group Kings Kaleidoscope. Chad Gardener, the lead singer and producer of this album, really lets his talents for finding good sounds shine. Although Kings were never really afraid to break new grounds in music, the singles really sounded refreshing. But this album really caught my attention.įrom the singles leading up to this album, it really sounded like Kings Kaleidoscope were really going experimental. A band in which hasn’t really caught my ear completely since their album releases from previous years (besides the mixtape The Beauty Between which I actually quite enjoyed). ![]()
